EHCP Coordinator

The coordinators will work to support learners who face substantial barriers to education, including learners with special educational needs. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the EHCP processes for learners with SEN within the local area and collaborate with external agencies to support the transition of students into the College. The role will include organising and leading annual review meetings to support students and families in ensuring their needs are met.
This is a part-time position which will involve working a minimum of 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year and will work across the Trust.
The postholder will be based at a primary college location but will be required to work at both college campuses in line with the responsibilities and requirements of this role.
The successful candidate will also be required to support colleagues and curriculum staff to ensure that the Lighthouse Learning Trust is providing a consistent, supportive approach to those with additional needs.
You will have sound knowledge of learning difficulties and disabilities and experience of working with special educational needs. You should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and experience of chairing meetings and organising a busy work schedule. Effective professional relationships with colleagues, learners and the wider community are essential. Excellent organisational and administrative skills are required and flexibility to travel between campuses (Richard Taunton College in Southampton and St Vincent College in Gosport.).
About you:
- GCSE/Level 2 qualification or equivalent in Mathematics and English Language
- Previous experience of working within an education environment, particularly working with LLDD students
- Strong communication skills; building and maintaining relationships
